We've got lots of carpenter bees around our barns and outbuildings.  My wife has 8 horses in/around our barns and outbuildings.  Get the picture???  I can swat the bees with a 1X2 about 18" long-no poison either.

Sounds like a good time. We call them carpenter bees not sure what else their called, but they look just like a bumble bee.Good shooting.

Are these like mud dobbers?  It was like a wasp that built big nests out of mud.

I need to try those heads, I have been shooting little mice in the off season with judos or condors, yours look more lethal.

I wondered were all the Carpenter Bees went! Usually their all up here in NY or so it would seem. You can keep them in Georgia. They can tear your buildings up in a few short years. Bad mitten racket works real well on them.

Not as much fun as shooting them but more effiecent I use the wooden traps and BeeButter on them as I can't shoot them around the barn here .

I never heard of them until we lived in Maryland about 20years ago. I couldn't figure out why someone drilled those nice, neat 1/2" holes in the overhead plank baffles above our deck. Then I saw one going in. Huge!

That was pre-tradbow days, so I used a pellet pistol. Fun too.

Yeah Pat...and like I said in the thread...I use to hunt with my grandad's pellet gun when I'd stay with them and hunt the farm by myself.....and I felt like a grandson again.    ;)

Terry,
I love your hunting threads and have probably read them all.  This was my favorite, it's been a while since you posted something that wasn't just "forum business".  Bowhunting is fun.  Doesn't matter what the quarry.  Thanks for bringing us along.

I'm drawing 58 pounds at my 29 1/2 inch draw. Is this enough to kill bees?! Sorry, could resist! I recently heard someone talking about young native American boys stalking and shooting grasshoppers with their bows. I don't know how historically accurate that is but it sounds plausible and fun! It had me thinking...which is always dangerous! And then this thread shows up! Sounds like a great time!!
