I enjoy shooting my 90's B handle and my mag B handle. My down fall is I like shooting longbows also. If I was flushed With cash I would have more Bear TD's .
Craig, what I would like to own is a B handle made from the same stock that the metal handles are made from for the Bear compounds. I am Leary that the newer limbs and strings might cause the mag handles to break. I know the demand for a metal handle might not be as great as the new wood ones but is it that much to program the CNC machine to make the  metal handle? Thanks, Tom M

Tom, what poundage are you shooting in the Mag handles? I shoot 60 # on a 76er riser and 76# on an A Mag with no issues for  about a year. both with skinny FF.

dad

With the metal risers coming back I would like to see Bear metal risers also.

M60gunner

I shoot 60lb. #3 limbs on my mag handle. I also shoot a set of Rose Oak limbs at 55lbs.
Mag  handles must be cast without air pockets. This was a problem with early compounds breaking. The recurve of those days did not have the stress  we can put on them now. So if a guy has one of those not so perfect handles it could be broken using the modern limbs and strings. IMHO The next step is Carbon/foam limbs. At the higher weights I wonder about the stress on the handle. Agian my case for a machined aluminum handle.

Bowwild

That black-capped Bubinga sounds very nice!

Agree with Bowwild.  My wife is gonna hate me!

Tom, i agree about the possibility of air pockets and less then perfect casts.....but life is full of risks....I personally feel this risk is pretty small.  I also agree that it would be nice to shoot the latest wiz-bang technology limbs ....just to see if there is a difference I could notice.

OBXarcher

A two wood riser like the new super kodiaks would be sweeeeeeeeet. I would be first in line

tomwatson

Craig, OBXArcher has a good idea on the two wood riser. I guess with Trad-archers like us, Bear will never run out of ideas    :D . By the way, I was looking at the Rutland site and saw that the Dymondwood comes in all sorts of colors. A green Dymondwood riser with a black accent stripe would be pretty neat.  I can see it now the new "Black Stripe." I am glad to see this thread growing.

That is a class act you have there!!! Nice form too.........
Looks to my poor eyes like a C Riser and your pulling 27" to 28". Looks like Nice Performance!!

Roy from Pa

Thanks Larry and yes it's a C riser. 27.5 draw length. That ole take down has quite a few bucks to her credit over the past 40 years...

I have loved these bows since I started shooting in 1970, I've owned two wood A handles over the years but money woes forced me to sell. I currently shoot several mag handles, both A and B and original limbs. A new bubinga may be in my future. Simply my favorite bows ever.

Nice bow Roy! Not many C-risers seen anymore. Those old Bears can still shoot with the best of them today.

Roy: How did you manage to get the sight window cut past center. I love the elevated rest and plunger. Looks like a really nice shooting outfit.

Outstanding bows. I have 4 and love them all. And the photos in this thread are making me want to go get another TD -- and I can't afford to do that. Oh, the drooling and the temptation.....

I'm all for the contrasting color caps. With the exception of the 67.5, it's what set the S.K.'s apart from all others.

Roy from Pa

Bill it came like that cut past center and the Berger Button makes tuning a snap, plus the rest is a little magnetic rod that springs in when the arrow passes it. It's called a Bear Victor Viking, riser is made from futura wood, whatever that is:)
