Endless loop strings, heavy bows, and wood and only wood arrows...my kind of archery!

That's what got me into bow hunting when I was young. Prairie Dogs!
Time is a great teacher, but unfortunately it kills all its pupils.

No snow, Vance???
First pic is from cruising the shore in southeast Alaska, looking for bears.  I'm the boat captain, pointing something out to the first mate.  Did you know a boat captain can perform a marriage?

The next one is across the country in Labrador, caribou camp to be exact.  Bunch of tradgangers in this one.

Left to right.
Matt "Shoeman" Schuster, from Jawja, when he still had hair.  Most of it was in front of his right ear.  I think he hunted in Nikes.

Biggie. Jawja.  Svelte 365 lbs., went up and down the hills with ease.  Just took awhile.  If you followed behind, ya had to watch for sinkholes that suddenly formed.  Kept all the blackflies to himself.  What a guy.

Jim Cleary, from Maine.  Best accent in the group.

Bill Carlsen, pre-DAS Kinetic.  Think he has a Groves in hand.  Does he look over 60??

Me.  Don't know why the Peter Storm raingear is on, unless it was raining.  Probably Crown Royal in the cup.

Durwood Fuller.  Really great guy from Jawja.  I think this was his first out of country hunt, and he loved it.
So don't wait until you retire to go hunting and fishing.  Don't even wait for your annual vacation.  Go at every opportunity.  Things that appear urgent at the moment may, in the long run, turn out to be far less so.

The paint job was to cover the hole in my headnet and to keep my kids thinkin I AM Mr. Incredible.  Yeah, that bird thought he could swim away, but I got him.  I wasn't so lucky on the second bird I shot.
