Hey Tradgang,

I'm back again with another question that I'm sure someone with more knowledge or experience will probably be able to answer.

I have a set of limbs for a takedown bow from a bow manufacturer that is no longer in business. It is the Cravotta Brothers Blackhawk Hornet Special T.C. Apparently the Cravotta Brothers used the same riser for their takedown bow as Shakespeare did for the Shakespeare QT takedown bow back in the mid 1970s.

I have the original riser but it is in right hand and I would like to get a left handed riser that would work. I e been trying to track down an original left handed riser from either company that will work but having some trouble. I was wondering if there is or if it would be possible to try and find an ILF riser that would work.
The only other option I can think of is to have a left handed riser machined that would work but that feels a bit cost prohibitive.

Any thoughts, ideas, or knowledge would be greatly appreciated. I have included pictures of the right handed risers I have that work with the limbs.

Do you have photos of the limb butts showing the hardware used?  It may be possible to build a riser from wood and G-10 composite, but i'd have to see the hardware attachment.  Can you post some photos of the limb butts and possibly the riser and limbs assembled?   I'm always up for a bit of custom millwork.     Kirk

Kirk,

I can definitely get some good pictures for you probably around Thursday. I'm out of the area for a little bit for work. I appreciate you taking a look at it when I am able to get them to you. Do you need pictures with a machinist ruler next to them as well?

No ruler needed at this time. I just need to see how the limbs attach and what controls the limb alignment, and go from there...   Kirk
