Hey guys. Haven't posted here in a good while, but I see lots of familiar names are still here. Just purchased a mint condition RER Vital made by Kevin TerMaat, but the seller was not sure of the woods (he purchased it from the original owner). I'm thinking the riser is dark bocote and the limbs are quilted maple, but am looking to see if anybody can verify. Now to remember how to post pics!  :biglaugh:

Very well could be. A friend has a bow that is wenge and it does look similar. Will know better when I get my hands on it.

I second Wenge riser.
I have a RER Arroyo from Kevin and it's still in mint condition all Bocote .
Great bows when Kevin owned the company and it's a shame the new owners don't seem to be making them anymore .
Not sure what happened but the Arroyo was my favorite and I killed my biggest buck with mine .

Wenge riser and either spalted maple or tamo ash limbs would be my guess.

Nice looking bow either way. One I've never heard of.

Longtoke, I really didn't need another bow, but I love my RERs so much, and a lefty in my specs is as rare as hens' teeth. had to bite the bullet and snatch it up!

When I stated "Curly",  I meant quilted ...... typed too fast or brain too slow  :biglaugh:
Curely and sometimes or especially in the musical instrument world,  Curely will be called "flamed" and shows as those beautiful stacked lines of contrast.  Your limbs are more the swirly clouds that QUILTED shows as.   So anyways,  I'm saying your limbs are quilted maple

The darker tone could be that the bowyer hit them prior to glue up with stain to get that rich caramel/chocolate color.  Beautiful whatever the case may be.  I have 3 bows that are natural color curly maple veneers back and belly.  I have a weakness for that maple.  If I were ordering one right now,  I'd be getting curly maple on the limbs.  Quilted ain't too shabby either  :bigsmyl:
