Agreed I've watched both of them, now I'm down the rabbit hole of his YouTube!

I'm so excited!!! I'm hoping my lovely wife will let me get the camera I've had my eye on for a while, hoping to be able to document the hunt!

David is a great guy and knows his bears.  He was my guide the first year I went to Stickflingers.  His videos are good.  Ryan will give a tutorial on the Sunday afternoon before the hunt starts.

I expect the experience to be nothing short of amazing.

I'm still dialing in the exact length of arrow that tunes just perfectly, but i'll have VPA 3 blade 1 1/4 heads up front- so far an Easton 400 with a regular insert & 175 grain head is REALLY close- i'm going to cut 1/8th off the arrow & that should stiffen it up just enough to be perfect.

Need to see if Gary @ DM arrows will build me some good looking ones to take with!

Nothing like a classy looking arrow. If you are going to go- go in style!

If she doesn't let you get that camera you can use your phone. The cameras on them are very good these days. You can buy a phone mount camera arm. Bear hunting over bait is so fun! You will have a great time. Pick a spot!

I have taken 4 bears up there.  My setups were as follows;

-56# Silvertip recurve, Goldtip 400 with a 50 gr insert, 160 Snuffer with 100 grain insert.  625 grains or so
-54# Robertson recurve, Surewood shaft and 160 VPA 3-blade.  570 grains or so.
-55# Silvertip lomngbow, Surewood Shaft with Magnus 1 4-blade.  tut grains or so.
- 54# Silvertip recurve, 2018 with 175 VPA 3-blade, 610 grains

Blacktailchaser,
First of all, So sorry this is so late! I just havnt been back to check this thread until today and so I  didn't see your question.
ERROR ALERT—ERROR ALERT!!!
I just looked at my photo and realized I was using an arrow that was slightly shorter so I re-weighed. I originally listed it as 575 it actually was 550.
My Surewoods arrows average right around 550 grains including a STOS 160 grain two blade broadhead. I practice with the same weight, 160 grains. Sorry again John!
