Nice kill very impressive!

I'm so proud of Mike and this one! I told him he needs to start doing motivational seminars on bowhunting tenacity... 999 out of a hundred (I did that math in my head) wouldn't have even been out there. Good job Mike! A sincere congratulations.  BW

Awesome buck Mike and I too love Normans Tradtracker. I wouldn't hesitate to call in a dog tracker in the event I needed one. You did good..real good!

Personal ethics is something we all live with. We have to live with our own decisions. Chad Grahm from WUDARAZ made the Doug Fir tapered arrows for me. I used a 250 gr three blade VPA broadhead.  Each arrow is inscribed with one of my quotes "Self-reliance can't be bought." Mike

Very Nice buck. Congrats. Way to stay after it.

Congratulations on another great buck Mike!  I enjoy reading and following along with every one of your stories!

Yes, I pass up a lot of bucks every year. This buck always had the double brow stickers. He previously broke off at least one of the stickers. He does not have the biggest body, but after I killed the large bodied 9-pointer in October, this buck seemed to be a more active breeder with much more daylight movement than previous season. Or it could be that he has come into his own as a 5-year-old buck.
This shed is his from 2 years ago.

Whenever I kill a deer, the entire family enjoys the rewards. I made chili yesterday and my mother enjoyed eating it while admiring the buck's antlers.

Today is the last day of our deer season, but with no buck tags left and temps -15, I can't say I miss being out there. HaHaHA  Mike

Superb harvest...Congrats!!!

The owner often needs to develop solid confidence in his tracking dog...he needs to learn his dog...My prized dog is correct well over 90% of the time that I suspect she could be off the track in the early season....just recently, she has made a 2 1/4 mile and 3 1/4 mile recovery with the last blood being w/i the 1st 200 yards...the dog handler needs to be able to run on established faith.

What a great buck, and I commend you for getting assistance with tracking with the weather that you had. What a trophy.

Mike,
Thanks for sharing, I can't wait wait to hear the retelling in Lexington.

Congratulations on an exceptional buck.

The broadhead used, regardless of how sharp, is nowhere as important as being able to place it in the correct spot.

Great buck Mike!  Any idea when Brian will have his new website up and running?

Herdbull

Lefty- Thanks for kind words. Brian Wessel is building his new site from scratch and hopes to have it up and running within 2 weeks. Thanks for your interest. His new bows have less physical weight in the upper riser, so they seem more balanced when help horizontal at the grip throat. Mike

Wudstix

Is he going to continue the longbow offerings?
