Didn't Bob Morrison use CA as the finish on his snake skinned limbs?

He may have at one time. But as long as I remember he used Thunderbird Epoxy Gloss.

For a grain filler our sandable filler sealer works great, dries fast and sands easily. A pint does a lot of bows.   https://tbirdarchery.com/shop/ols/products/thunderbird-filler-sealer-quart

Does it work when sanded in during application?

The way I like to use it best is brush on two to four coats depending on the wood snd amount grain to fill. Give an hour o even wait until the next morning then it sands nicely like sanding on wood.

Do you have any issues with shrinkage with this stuff on deep slotted grain?

No Once dried and sanded down to where you hit wood it Good to go. Along as you have applied enough to fill the grain.

Well i guess i'll have to give this stuff a go sometime. A good grain filling sanding sealer that/s easy to sand with no shrinkage is hard to come by...  Thanks.
