Does anyone see an issue using a water base stain on the edge of limbs after sanding and tillering to blend them? Using bamboo with a very dark kosipo veneer. It's a dark riser with dark veneer and I don't really want light bamboo edges if I can avoid it. Thank you!

If you have limb cut offs use them to test your stain.Water may raise the grain. Alcohol may work better

an alcohol base stain or dye I'd be completely fine with. Heck, I'll make a third limb just to test it on. I'm concerned with delam issues. Hence my avoidance of oil base.  Thanks Crooked

I don't think she would delam from wiping stain on , but I'd lean toward alcohol also.  Since the riser is dark , you shouldn't have to worry about stain bleeding into where you don't want it.
Stay sharp, Kenny.
