Maybe shouldn't work in shop when love is in the air on Valentines Day !!  :biglaugh:
Stay sharp, Kenny.

Glad I'm not the only one that's done that Mike.

I got a string on the junk I'm building. Everything seems okay. Little on the heavy side but I think I can make it work. It's the first 60" bow I've made on this design.

I think that bow will be great for whoever gets it.
Pretty good looking dust collector does it work well ?

It works great. I've had it for around 10 years and I've had no trouble with it.

Morning all.  I have my bow down to floor tiller but have been remiss in taking pics.  I'll fix that in the next week.  Also been working on my new Bowyer's Bench :)

Kenny, what size is the riser? I have a 14" riser on the 60" I am building. Hoping to get some time to work on it this week.

Definitely interested in seeing how it turns out and preforms!

This bow blank was prepped many year ago and has been waiting for a worthy victim :)

66", 1-1/4" wide.  I'm looking forward to working it up.

Nice John
What's the purpose of the wide slot in your bench?

Crooked Stic

Prolly to make people like you ask questions  :bigsmyl:

Thanks Roy.  It's a tool tray.  It's a modification to a traditional joiners bench.  Helps keep the work top clear for panel work.  Not so important for making selfbows but it is kind of cool :)

I misspoke 4 point and Kenny. I apologize for the confusion. I saw 4 points 60" take Down and thought it was yours Kenny which is also a fine bow. 4 Point how long is your riser? I am building a 60" td as well for my victim. It too is the first 60" from this form. May take down to 58" and see how she does.

Mine is a 16 inch riser. I used the same limb as I use on my 62". It has a 8 1/2 limb wedge.

You guys have short risers, my Bear takedown riser is 26 inches on a 66 inch bow...

Roy, I'm planning on making a long riser takedown recurve at some point. It'll be a 22 inch riser for a 66" bow.

Kenny, what's max draw length on your 60" takedown longbow. This one looks like 29"s is gonna be stretching it.

Roy from Pa

Travis, I think a longer riser with shorter limbs makes a faster bow.

kennym

Travis,

I only have the 62/64. I've built a couple 60" but don't remember where they stack.  I know I went 15" riser on those.

The 64" will do 30" , not sure on the 62" but I'm guessing 29 on it.

Tip wedges cut the draw down some.
Stay sharp, Kenny.
