The guide(not included) with the gun was Ed Bilderback, the famed Alaskan bear guide. It is this iconic scene I'm trying to capture but other than that it really isn't historically correct.
Years ago, my wife and I went to the Fred Bear Museum and factory in Florida. When you walk in the main entrance there is a mounted polar bear that Fred shot. That thing stood at least 10' tall and was quite omanus even stuffed so I'd say that Fred did have plaster running through his veins.

Another sneak peek. Added the beach sand and rocks but need to finish up the beach and attach the driftwood and finish the bear. The shooter is complete but not yet attached...
