Cant beat flinging arrows at a flying pheasant.  Good shooting. Thats what we do when we have a bird hunt, have a shotgunner for backup. With the group we have the gunner has to bring a lot of shells.   :bigsmyl:

Terry,
Congrats, also one more quick question on heads, anyone use Judo's? If so were they effective?
I really don't want to shoot broadheads as I worry about the dog and the retrieve.
Thanks, ken.

1st hunt we used long field points with 'star collars'....never seen them before.

They worked good on a SOLID hit, but knocked a lot of feathers off.

We made our own heads,...least Doug and I did did for the next hunt, and so did a few others, and they worked better on the not so solid hits as well as the solid ones.

They were modified Bheads...but the head had the point ground down flat as well as the edged....they were dull while on the ground, but flying through the air they worked pretty good.

Congrats Terry, That looks like a blast!

I haven't even seen that many birds this year. My German Wirehair is very upset with the lack of pheasants!!! Hasn't snowed here in Des Moines but maybe a half inch total this year, I'm really hoping an easy winter and spring help the ringneck population rebound tremendously
