I had a customer from here in Minnesota who wanted a bit of the "Minnesota" theme for a knife.
From right across the river where I live I got a Black Ash burl that resulted in quite a few pieces - so he got one of those.
I didn't get a picture but the finial has a decorative cover of Minnesota Moose antler.
I delivered it to him today and he liked it enough that he ordered three more - one for each of his sons.
And then a San-Mai blade.

When the last deer disappears into the morning mist,
When the last elk vanishes from the hills,
When the last buffalo falls on the plains,
I will hunt mice for I am a hunter and I must have my freedom.

Excellent work. Reading the title I would not have expected the handle to be that figured. Very nice

That San Mai blade is just so dramatic - any wood would look good on that!
