I'm with Dan.  Hammond or Hammond knives or Hammond Blades or Hammond Cutlery.  Kinda sounds provincial.  Of course there's always Ray's pig-stickers, that has a country charm to it.  Whatever you choose, good luck to you on this endeavor.  Keep 'em sharp and keep 'em coming!

How about Woodstock Knife Works. or Savanna Blades

For hunting to have a future, we must invest ourselves in future hunters.

There's an old saying that if you're proud enough to make and sell the "...." - thing, then you should be proud enough to put your name on it.
Use your name.
Some day down the road, a person will be looking at one of your knives that says "Rays..... or Razor.....," etc. and not have a CLUE who made it!!
What's wrong with Ray Hammond Knives for a company name?
For a logo, put an "R" and an "H" back-to-back.
When the last deer disappears into the morning mist,
When the last elk vanishes from the hills,
When the last buffalo falls on the plains,
I will hunt mice for I am a hunter and I must have my freedom.

Maybe- "R-Hammond Customs"

Good luck deciding.

got ya. Stickbowslim from NJ sent me a PM two days ago saying that same thing, Karl. I notice you, Lin Rhea, and others doing it that way.

I just might do it too. Not that I am even close to you guys in talent yet, but we'll work on that part.

Here are some more, more subtle. Just kind of going off everyone's ideas. I guess I should have used an apostrophe. Ooops!

'cuz deer huntin' ain't catch & release!

I am in support of Skullworks, I like the top logo of the 3 you posted.
Very clean, could be incorporated into a business card, web page and should make for a very nice stamp on the blades.

Ok, I'm gonna make a knife for Skullworks, and Stickbowslim, Dan Masson and Karl Anderson are going to get some free cape buffalo horn scales to use on their knives (which are much better than mine) for their guidance.

Skull and Stickbowslim, send me an email with your contact information so I can them to you when finished, OK? rayhammond01@yahoo.com

Thanks everyone for your help.

Skullworks- could you change logo 1 please, to read RAY HAMMOND instead of RAY HAMMONDS? and send me in a high resolution format in an email so I can use for business cards and website?

Thank you very much.

WHAT?????  You didn't like Sammich Slicers????  LOL!!!

That is a sweet looking logo and an classy sounding name so long as the reader doesn't know who Ray Hammond is.  HAHA!

Good luck in this venture.  If your first one is any indication of the destination, it should be a heck of a ride, ALL  THE WAY TO THE TOP!!!!

Ray I think you are make the right choose by putting your name on the knives.  The logo looks great as well as the knife you posted.

I have not progressed to the point that I would sell a knife yet.  I only have one that I made (a small skinner in an arm guard sheath), but gave all the rest away.  The first question everyone asks is "why isn't your name on the knife?"

Not to upset anyone but here is my opinion on marking your knife.  I hold this opinion to give honor to the craftsman and how he makes his knives.  I feel if you forge your blades they should be stamped with your mark.  Forging to me is the true art of knife making and the stamps should be reserved for them, where as if you make your blades via stock removal you should etch your mark.

Leftieshot

Sorry but I disagree Chile.  You still have to shape and know where to remove and manipulate the steel to make a blade.  But thats my opinion!

Good choice Ray.  Skull- again nice work on the logo.

Ray -  Don't forget to post a pic of the knives....

skullworks

Thanks for the compliments everyone and the knife Ray. I'll send the info Ray. I'll include several formats that should work fine for you.
