Got the rest of my arrow parts today, I am about to commence arrow building.

I started a bear hunt inspired back quiver.   Aside from a simple knife sheath, its my first real attempt at leather work.  It should be done in a few days.   I'll post some pics when its complete.

Well I'm all done tuning. the final combo will be 30" Easton Excel 500s and 145 grain Snuffers! That combo flys well out of both of the bows I plan to take on the trip. A little more treestand practice and I'm set. Let the sharpening begin.

I'm still fine tuning.    I tend to be a little shapening impaired.  Thats going to influence my final broadhead selection.

I ordered the new X Blok sharpening system, that I read about in TBM, a few months back...that, coupled with a nice piece of leather, have my Snuffers poppin hair off me arm!!! I'll have it in camp if anyone wants to try thier hand at it!!!
I've got 3 targets set in me backyard, and a 15' ladder stand, and have been shooting from it every evening that I can...it's alot easier when the daughter is home to fetch arrahs for me, instead of climbing down so much....lol
I leave for Wyoming antelope, this sat am early, be gone for a week, then home about 3 days before we head for LeRoy's place!!!

Thanks for the info on the XBlok Brad. I may hve to bring one that hasn't been sharpened with me to camp to try it out.

Finally got a weekend off so it's gonna be filled with preparations for the hunt. Time to get all my clothes in order and groceries purchased. I'll probably be talking to all of you in the next week.

That's kinda what I thought too Rick. I'm gonna check it one more time on the 4th to see if I am going to take any cool weather clothing. Now if it will just stay dry all week, or at least only rain at night.

I'm just packing for all possibilities.  I figure that as long as I don't have to carry it on my back for a week, why not!

Can't wait,

Looks like I'm going with the Razorcaps for my broadhead of choice.

I reviewed all the how-to's and finally was able to get one shaving sharp.  Woo Hoo!!   Now if I could just find the WW's I bought last year and never used.

My final setup is:

Bear Grizzly 50#@28", Easton Legacy 2016's topped with the 125G Razorcaps.

Does anyone have a preference of marinade for the beer can chickens?    I was thinking of going with the Teriaki and Herb&Garlic.  These seem to be the crowd favorites at the family BBQ's.

I was emailing Tim at Ituksum and he said they have been seeing bears but have not had any taken yet.   That should bump our odds even more.

Correction to the above post...I thought it was wheelie shooter making the misses. Turns out it was rifle hunters. Three guys missed bears at 63,40 and 12yards with guns a total of 5 times.
