Congrats on an awesome bird I know how you are feeling I just killed my first trad turkey and it was the greatest rush ever. I also killed my second and third trad turkey on the same trip it may be months before the huge smile leaves my face.

Congratulations on a very nice bird! Sounds like you were very lucky on the recorvery - but your persistence paid off and you are to be congratulated for that.

After reading some of Guru's stuff on using a stringtracker, I started using one - after I lost a big bird with a good hit but just couldn't find it. I've killed one gobbler since then and followed the string about 125 yards to that bird. I wouldn't turkey hunt without it....
