I'll start bending her when she's at 9%+. She's in the shower now, I go in and turn the hot water on (not on the bow) every hour or so to put the RH up at 70%. Wallpaper'l peel but what the heck :D :D :D

Timo, I assume your next to recieve the bow. I'll leave the tips oversized with temp nocks only. That way you can work your magic on them.

Now, what kind of color do you all think would be best?

It is very nearly impossible to get any kind of light color since the glue really darkens up the leather. My past handles have been either a medium dark redish brown similar to nice black walnut or else nearly black with some lighter grey showing that looks similar to ebony.

The brown color is shown on page one and I think the finished black handle is on page four.

Dave, the mahogany color would look very good. I did one a few years ago using Timo's grass carp skins and a dark grip like yours (not as fancy)...and it looked real nice. The skins I had, had a lot of brown in them.

On that same note, do you guys want the bow natural osage or should I stain it darker? I have some antique cherry dye stain I have used on osage & it`s awesome looking. I have some pics of a recently finished bbo with thatstain if need be.

Dano wait for Tim. I'm gonna leave the tips wide so he can do whatever he needs. If it's little pin nocks...it's a 64" bow...if it's something more substantial it'll be 63.5" or 63".

Did ya ever see what Dean Torges does with analine dyes and oasge? Pretty cool stuff. One big differnce between us hacks and the pros is the time and effort they put into the finishing.

I tillered for awhile on her tonight, camera batteries dead :( it's coming along.

George, I have seen that & talked to Dean about it the one time he was at the Kzoo expo. Beautiful stuff. I can do something similar, but I need a concensus if we want stain or natural finish. I dont want to make the descision.

The finish is the easy part, making a bow, now that`s out of my league. You guys are amazing.
