Kurt Is Home Now for short visits.  If he improves as well as he has been he will be able to be home nightly and have intense Physical/mental therapy daily.

I seldom see people so strong.  He has a long way to go and still relies on his wheel chair.  It is obvious how well someone can do when the people around him show their love.

Please keep kurt in your prayers.  He is benefiting from them.

Prayers continue for Kurt to keep bustin tail to get better... With God's help, of course!

Kurt took Six steps on his own tonight. No walker, no aides, six regular steps.

He promptly asked to go to the races afterward.

He's at the Races as we speak with my little brother.

Here I read that to mean "foot races!"

Kurt sounds like quite a character! Brings tears of joy to my grubby ole face to read your note, Charlie.

Prayers of thanksgiving and petition for continued progress!

Actually David, He was an exceptional race car driver.  If he chose to make it a career instead of being a father,he would have been all over NASCAR winning boards.

They went to watch the local races at the local track.  Even though he cant drive right now and doesnt race anymore, he still loves to spectate.  It was his first time out socially.

I like your analogy though that is fitting.

I actually figured you meant auto races, Charlie, but that was such good news to read, it made me a wee bit silly feeling!

So Kurt was a potential "Days of Thunder" type... but gave that risky biz up for love and family!

Cool!

Always grand to read someone we pray for is doing better and mounting up on Eagles wings!

Prayers continue!

There was a benefit held last night to help Kurt's young wife with expenses.

HUGE outpouring of the local community.  Its touching to see how many people care!

A big Texas prayer sent for Kurt, his family and many friends. May he be given the strength to complete his re-hab and return to his life and family fully recovered, both mentally and physically.

Doc Nock

I hope they can surmount their financial hurdles and he can soon be running those foot races if only in his mind's eye for the present!

Never give up hope!

We'll keep praying for that to become reality!

Thanks for the prayers Guys.

Kurt tried breathing on his own however when he moved the blood pressure and heart rate would soar through the roof so they put him back in the coma.

MRI results are back, they are now hopeful for a recovery but fear some brain damage.

We found out the Cause.  The police went to the Hotel room to try to find answers.  It was supposed to be unoccupied until an investigation went underway.

The police arrived to the room to find another victim unconscious who was flown to the same Hospital as Kurt. If they didn't go there to investigate this other guy would have died.

Upon Further investigation, the hotel manager was cited 2 weeks prior for not fixing the Carbon Monoxide problem and continuing to rent out the hotel room.

I'm trying to work past the anger against this Homicidal negligence.

A local bar has raised over $3000.00 to help his family with expenses.

My older Brother is driving my little brother the 4 hours up there to go and visit tomorrow.

Continued prayers are welcomed, needed and appreciated.
Holy crap!!!   I cannot believe this. Just read through the thread.  Good luck the guy and prayers sent!  Wonder how many were sick before those two.  Sounds like his medical bills will be taken care of by a major hotel chain...but that does nothing for the family and friends...nor the pain and suffering. Hope he makes a full recovery and gets back "on the track" soon!  Amazing what will and spirit can do with a little love and support.

Update

Kurt is home.  He is doing quite well.  Physical and Mental therapy every day as his new Full time job.  My little brother was over the other day and Kurt decided he was going to get up and get my little brother, the guest, a drink.  And he Did!

He has come a long way, still has a long way to go.

His wife and Children have been a huge support, his old employer says he will have  a job with them.  His son was able to finally race a car which has been put on hold for a few months.

I want to thank everyone for their prayers.  There are certainly miracles everyday.

Wonderful report Charlie! Not all miracles come out being as we ask, but you're right... God's still in the miracle business!

Prayers will continue for your friend, Kurt! May his will and his family/friends/emmployer still be with them.

And, if not too vengeful, may he get a great attorney to blister that miscreant who allowed this C0 poisoning to occur to recoup his financial losses!
