This past weekend, I was feeling very sorry for myself, because of all the work I need to catch up on around my house. Long story short, I spent more time complaining, than getting things done.

Monday morning, the flu hit me like a twelve guage slug.

Until this morning, lifting my head was too much to expect. For the first time in my life I was sick enough that I COULD NOT get up and suffer through it. I was physically unable.

It made me realize how truely lucky I have been, and while I will probably still complain some, I will "git er done".

I will NEVER take my physical abilities for granted again.

I rarely post here, but my prayers are present here always.

Prayers for the acceptance of your weakness' as your strengths. That's when you look to God and you find Him.
But his bow will remain steady, and his hands will be skillful; because of the hands of the Mighty One of Jacob, because of the Shepherd, the Rock of Israel,  (Genesis 49:24 [NETfree])

Don't ole Benson just have a way with words, though? Good point, my friend... "weakness as our strength through God."

What would we do without Him?

bonebuster, feel better soon...
The words "Child" and "terminal illness" should never share the same sentence! Those who care-do, others question!

Bonebuster,
Nothing like a good old case of the flu to get our heads on straight.I hope this weekend finds you feeling better, maybe even getting out and shooting a couple of stumps.Thank you God for letting us deal with it all.

Bonebuster I hope I didn't come across as being hardnosed in my reply. I just have felt like you so many times and it seems like I find such peace in God's presence and acceptance during those times. I hope you feel the same. God's best to you.

Benbow, I see no hardnosed comments here.

I had time to think, while I was on my back in a heap.

There I was, able bodied, and complaining about chores to be done. All the while, too many, who would love to be able to get up and do ANYTHING, cannot.

Prayers are not needed for me, although I thank you all.

I will get up and do what needs to be done. And I will whistle while I work.

Indeed...Thank you God!
