Alternating between a '65 Grizzly and a Browning Cobra II. Managed a 4 yard shot on a doe with the Cobra only to have song dogs find her before I did, guess I'll do some late season calling for those critters.
The essence of the hunt for me is to enter nature and observe+ return safely occasionally with the gift of a life taken.

Congratulations Dennis. I keep wanting to use a newer Bear takedown this season but I've been shooting my green stripe with old red tip limbs so well I'm not willing to switch.

Phil, keep on shooting that green striper.  I've been thinking of retiring the '70 and picking up a green striper, but just unwilling to make it happen yet.  Good luck.

The odd thing for me right now is that I am sticking with my lefty 1960 Kodiak because of the arrows I want to hunt with...55 year old bow with carbon/aluminum arrows and modern fibre low stretch string

I set out a while ago to reduce my herd of 40 bows...And I am finally down to 42

Still hanging tough with the "64" Zebrawood Grizzly and Bear Razorheads w/ no insert.

Phil, I thank you. I was carrying a few momentos of deceased 'brothers of the bow' with me on that hunt.  It meant a lot to me and was very gratifying.

I totally and completely understand that Dennis.

The picture of you with your vintage bow and whitetail brought a huge smile to my face.

Bravo!!!

It is a very pretty bow,the snake skin beside the light and dark wood make it a stand out. I only hunt turkey with a 1967 Kodiak Magnum.

Congrats to all of you who made it happen with vintage gear this year!  I also thank all who shared their pictures and stories.

I didn't make it happen.  It was a rough year for me at work.  I didn't get out much and the landowner where I hunt is allowing access to a guy that hunts very differently than I do so things weren't like they used to be when I did go out.

Oh well, all just excuses.  Today was our season end.  I did get out with the Pearson.  It was the first time I had been out since November.  It was UNSEASONABLY warm but a beautiful day.  I saw 3 deer, nothing in range and watched a group of pileated woodpeckers for a couple of hours.  Great day really.

Thanks again guys!

Colin, you gave it your best when you did get out. We all know it doesn't always happen.    Perhaps you will get a little more time this year. Enjoy your adventures with vintage equipment.  Good luck.
