Ok,
I could be wrong but I never saw an original file with an Osage handle or Nicholson brand.
I've seen many repros made with Nicholson files and wood handles though.
Who knows?

I myself have never seen one with a Osage file.

Wade, I have my dads knife kit is from the 60's and after reading your post about the ID on the knife I checked and there are no model numbers on the knife blade.  Do you know when the transition took place with knives or did they just put a Western knife in the kit at  random.

Thanks for posting your info.

The 1957 catalog describes an aluminum liner for the sheath. It seems a variety of knives have been used-probably some as promotions.

My kit has a metal liner.  I got the thumbs up by Bowdoc.
