Let me show off new leather grip on my Bear Kodiak '59 replica.

I bought this bow several months ago and love it. But in my opinion such great bow deserves better grip, then the factory one is (just my $0,02). Leather started to slide, turn and twist quite soon and after some time I had to remove it at all. I tried to shoot bow without grip (yes, Fred's way  ;)  ), but sorry .. I don't like it. Thus, I decided to put new grip on bow .. question was "How to ...?"

Tradgang helped me again .. let me say THANK You, for all great info here, especially to TonyW for his grip pattern and TonyW & Bowdoc for "   Restoration 101" thread    !
I did new grip myself, yesterday. Success, as far as I can say. With all knowledge I found here, it was quite smooth process ...

.. well .. maybe it's not the prettiest grip we have ever seen, but it's MY and it's fully functional    :)

BTW - Happy New Year to All !

Blackhawk .. ad grip .. gimme some time for more practice :-)

ad armguard ... it's another project I made this year ... here is original version of it (when it was new). Hope You can recognize the animal is old logo Bear  :)

later I changed fastening style. And you can see fur is damaged a little bit by string "slaps", now.

Yes sir...nice job on both.

I may have to make a 'Bear' armguard if you don't mind me copying it.

Happy New Year!

Beautiful work on both the grip and the armguard, Twitko. The former "looks like it grew there", as we say over here.
