I bought this Bear quiver on the auction site. It's mint/unused but the rubber gripper was dry and brittle. I took a Selway Quiver replacement metal bar/rubber gripper[around $10.00] and cut the bar to size and the rubber gripper down to a 3 arrow. Using the old metal bar off the Bear for a template I marked and drilled the holes in the Selway bar, screwed everything back togeather and attached the Quiver with a Thumbscrew from the local hardware store. Everything worked out great and this is a good way to make these old Bear quivers useable again.

Kendall:
You could have bought a "new" replacement gripper from 3 Rivers?

Thanks for the advice Rich. I'll snug her down every few shots. The Thumbscrew will work good for hunting as I like a quiver thats easy to take off the bow and hang up.

I really like those old buggers and yours is a beauty, Kendall. I found them really nice to look at and 4 arrows is all I ever needed, but a little difficult to keep quiet. I never had the courrage to try a bolt on though, just because of Rich' point.

Al, I've been shooting the heck out out and it's staying tight. I check it often. We're staying dry here but those folks 2 hours south of us are really suffering with the flooding. Kendall

I've seen a couple that people have added the upper wire from a later model 4 arrow, spray painted brown.
You really don't notice, and it doesn't detract from the appearance, but sure stabilizes the whole thing

Here's one I modified with a Spring arm I obtained from Tim Zeigler.  A  little bending and some brown paint and a few coats of rubber dip.

The quiver has a replacement gripper from Bob York, but I kinda like the Selway idea.  I've always liked their grippers.

I wish I would have thought of that Rich. Great job on the quiver Trap and that Indian head coin in the bow is really neat.
