Old Bear Quivers

Does anyone have any info on the old Bear quivers like Fred used to use? Not the bolt on ones, the ones the ones that held to the limb. They're in lots of pics with Fred and I wanted to know more about them.
Where could you buy them?
Does anyone have one, and do they work well?

Recently I bought one in an archery shop in Germany at a very high price, especially for you in the land of the origin of these quivers. I mounted it to my Bear Kodiak Hunter and it works fine. But it wouldn't be my ultimate choice for archery practice in general. For target shooting I would use a belt or back quiver.

After my new aqquisition of the old double clamb Bear quiver I got one at the auction site in Germany that can be fixed with screws to all Bear Compound and Take Down models made from 1975. Thats a lot better.

If your bow has a front bushing like a Kodiak Hunter or Super Kodiak I'd take the quiver with the singel steel spring on the top and the bushing mount option for the lower part of the quiver.

They work great, hold 8 arrows, and relatively available on e8ay.  cost will depend on who is bidding, condition , and other factors.

The only down side to the spring arm quivers is that they tend to mar or dent the limbs where they make contact.

You can find the "converta-quiver that has a spring arm on top and a screw down on the bottom.
The screw attachment is for a side mounted bushing on the riser, but they made.   a "converter" that let you mount it to the stabalizer bushing on the front of the bow, if it has one.

This is a better mount than a double swing arm, in my opinion.

Something else to consider is that the double spring arm models are not one size fits all.  They were made with your choice of short medium and long.

If you get a long one, it is not going to sit well on a 54" bow.  If you get a short one, it will not work well on a 66" bow.  A medium might go both ways, but I doubt it wil lwork well on extremely short or long bows.  Pay attention the the length, and this may not be posted as part of an e8ay auction.  Some sellers don't know the difference, or which one they have.  The one in TrapperDave's post above is the short model.  It does seem to have about 4" adjustment range.

Pap- Would love to get the quiver with the one spring arm and the one screw, but where does one find this "converter" that allows to use the bushing. That would be awesome on my 76 Super Kodiak which I plan onm using to hunt this fall.

I have both if you are interested.  I will never use them.

I'd have to charge you at least what I charged Cameron for the Bear 5" Premier sight.  Now that is just for the adapter.

I can let you have the quiver for whatever they are going for on e8ay.

snagged a pearson quiver, complete with 4 arrows for 9.99 on epay over the weekend....wonder if any of them arrows has a deadhead on it ?   :D   Ya never know!

Ron - I have $35.00 in mine.  That is what I was gonna let Bill have it for, plus shipping,  throwing in the adaptor at no cost.  I don't think the quivers are that hard to come by, but the adapters are another thing.

That's the same price we pay in Euro here in Germany. I bougth mine for 70,-- €.

Bought two Bear quivers at an estate sale in New Mexico this winter. Green spring arm, $.25 (25 cents) and a brown screw on, $.25 (25 cents) Now what.I will never use them but I knew they were worth far more than a quarter.
