60% of the time,  it works every time

Split. I recently went back after giving 3 under a year long try. So many were shooting three under I thought there had to be an advantage to learning it. It just doesn't work as well for me.

Rick Stevens

I have always used split. Back 40 years ago I tried the three under and became too focused on lining the arrow up with target that I forgot to focus on the target. Needless to say my accuracy and the fun of shooting dropped significantly so I changed back.

Still attached to my hand, thankfully.
This is my string hand about 3 minutes after I lost a battle with a multi-position ladder.  They got way uglier.  The shorter finger is clearly broken. The other just bruised. Also broke the tip of the middle finger on my bow hand.  When I can shoot, I shoot split,

Yeah, looks like it was a good scrap, but those ladders are nasty! I've had one crunch my hand as well - though not as beautifully as yours.

I have shoot both over the years but I prefer to
shoot split now. I shoot split finger better for "instinctive shooting" and I shot 3 under when I was shooting barebow walikng my face.

Split finger for me. have been shooting it for almost 20 years.

I did try 3 under for a few shots but took away from sight picture for me.

If it aint broke don't fix it!

Split.

I've given 3 under a try and my whisper-quiet recurve turned into a noise machine! It also had noticeable hand shock as well that was not there shooting split.

3 under

Began shooting split finger however when I switched to 3 under I became much more consistent.

I have shot split finger for years. this year I switched to 3 under. It took a while to get used to it but I found that I am more consistent with 3 under.

3 Under.  Used to shoot split, chin anchor, olympic style as a kid.  Love it for shooting with sights.  Hate it for gap/split vision shooting.  For some bows, I'll even anchor up on my nose for a while if the gaps are still over 15" or so.  Tried split a few  months ago & I couldn't keep my glove on -- the string took my glove right off my fingers at every shot.  Never happens when I shoot 3-under.  I'm sure there's a logical explanation but I haven't bothered to figure it out.

I shot split for many years and then switched to 3 under.
At the closer hunting ranges it helps reduce my gaps. I don't really consider myself a gap shooter but more of a split vision shooter.

A lot of split vision shooters like to call it instinctive but it's split vision which is unaware gaping.
I like wood bows. They fit my style and mentally simple self
