LBF Good picture!!  The fixed crawl/string walking makes it look a little off but a line from string elbow to bow hand on the bow is good!

nubuck, that's what I was trying to explain in the emails. Elbow above the arrow!

Are you willing to give up what you are; to become what you could be?

Thanks, Arne. Glad this helped. Sometimes it helps to see an example of what we are discussing. I know it does for me anyway.

during the hook and beginning of the draw it is high which makes flare out and up and creat ring finger tension at the hook is this because the forearm is not relaxed?
aim small miss small

Im not sure what you mean by "flare out and up." IMO, third finger pressure could be caused by tension in the forearm. Also a likely cause could be the angle of your string hand elbow.

I used to shoot with a heavy third finger. There was so much pressure on my ring finger that it had the biggest callous of all my fingers and would sometimes even blood blister on the edge of the finger. The way I reduced this was to apply the majority of the string pressure on my index and middle fingers. Then, I try to apply significantly less pressure on my third finger. This has helped me for sure.

What do you mean the angle of elbow?

Hi there,

I mean the string hand elbow could be canted higher than my image. The angle of the elbow could be higher, and, of course, as the angle of the elbow increases toward the sky, so does the third finger pressure on the string.

I heard the elbow down technique can work?
aim small miss small

In my description of the string hand elbow being higher than normal, I was explaining that the cause of third finger pressure. Higher the elbow = more third finger pressure.

nhbuck1

if your canting the bow wouldnt the high elbow cause the string torque as hand would not be at same angle of the string?
aim small miss small
