I feel your pain brother... literally. I've been battling bulging discs for many years and dodging surgery. i've have had epidural steroid injections about every 4 months the last 2 years that has kept things to a dull roar, but my last shot just before Christmas didnt do a damn thing.  So i've got an ablation  therapy scheduled for early May.

I'm hoping this works or i too will be looking at the same surgery you are having.  Good luck on that one...   Kirk

Mike, ya home yet or ya gotta stay a day or two?

Kirk, I had the epidural steroid injection between L4 and L5 last August 20th and it really helped me out. Now I gotta get one in the right hip May 1st. There are times when it hits me that I need crutches to walk for 4 or 5 days.

Crooked Stic

Well things did not go as planned. The doc had about 4-5 delay. They gave us an option to go home and reschedule so we resheduled.need the doc fresh anyhow.

I've had mixed success with the steroid injections over the last 2 years. Different doctors and slightly different locations made a difference too. But...Nothing lasted over about 3-4 months. i haven't got to the point of having to use crutches yet, but staying on my feet for long periods at a time is painful, and hiking any distance at all without constantly stopping isn't happening any more.

So i just pace myself, and sit more often..... What else can ya do?    This getting old kinda sucks.

I had an epidural that lasted maybe 4 days.
I have to call in the morning to reschedule.

I had your procedure done about 8 years ago. It was one of the best things I've done for myself. It changed my life back onto a positive trajectory. The recovery stunk but it was worth it.

The pain isn't 100% gone 100% of the time but it's absolutely 1000% better than before the procedure.

Best wishes! :campfire:
