Ceramic Heat Lamps

Just curious of others experiences. I have not used my hot box since last winter, and even then it was only to keep my adhesives warm in an unheated shop. This year when I was trying to cook some stabilized wood, I found that three of my four lamps were dead.

What is inside those that could go bad?
