The no shot session

Something that I have added to my practice sessions is dedicating a full session to not shooting an arrow. Simply doing everything I do except release. It's a great way to get a feel for your shooting form and pick up on anything that doesn't feel right. Also helps on giving you confidence that you can hold after reaching anchor and continue to pull while maintaining your sight picture. These might not be the most fun sessions but they do help.

I think that isolating what you need to work on so you can focus on it without being distracted by other things is a great idea.  If drawing and holding without releasing helps you to do that, then it is a worthwhile thing to do.

In my case, the thing I need to work on is releasing the arrow only when I am ready, and not before.  I haven't figured out how to work on that without actually releasing the arrow.  I can hold until my arms wear out if I know I'm not going shoot! 🤪
