You can hop but you can't hide.
If it was not for rabbits I would never get a buck.

Not sure of the age of the deer. He weighed out at 120lbs. 2 years? Dunno.

Looking at this site....
http://www.1atexasdeerhunting.com/bodyagingdeer.htm

I would say he was in the 2.5 yr category. Maybe. He was definitely "masculine looking" even when I saw him come in, before I noticed the antlers, I said: "That's a buck." The picture, at that angle kinda dwarfs his size. Not that he was that large (in NC, in my area, we don't get a lot of truly mature deer).

Next deer, I will try to take more note of the characteristics of the body structure.

Thanks everyone, once again.

Congrats bro!  Great story.  How'd you n my sis enjoy eatin your first trad kill?  First meal, backstrap or heart?  Pic saved.

Nice job and great story! Also great job of sticking with it. I had to track one for a while once and started to lose at one point. That was pretty scary. Thankfully I was able to find it with some help from friends and my son.

If nothing else, I bet you slept well after all was said and done.  :)

Enjoy!
