Here's a couple new hunters - both headed to the woods.
One in Canada and the other in North Carolina.
Both single twist. 268 layer hot-blued.
Both knives take-down.
First one is stabilized curly Oak! Very cool and not all that common.
That knife has a hot-blued mild steel guard and mirror polished spine.

The second one is from the same billet of Damascus with some deeply etched wrought iron for the guard and some way cool Cocobolo.

When the last deer disappears into the morning mist,
When the last elk vanishes from the hills,
When the last buffalo falls on the plains,
I will hunt mice for I am a hunter and I must have my freedom.

Great looking knives, Karl. Beautiful pattern.

Beautiful knives.  I love the curly oak handle.

Both are sweet, but the coco really looks awesome.

Karl, are you etching after the final edge is on? I can't tell from the pictures...

No - usually I photograph the knives right after they are completely built.
Then I make the sheath with the knife not yet sharpened to protect myself!
I sharpen after everything is made then ship.
