I have two; an Earnest Gilbert Canoochee Warrior take down recurve(made by Jeffries) and Mike Treadway "Moose Horn" mild R/D longbow. Both cost $300 when I bought them.       I still have both but never hardly shoot either because I prefer selfbows, sinew backed or all wood backed bows.
I have lots of selfbows, some made for me and some given to me or I traded for.
Make the most of all that comes and the least of all that goes!

BUCKY

Mahaska recurve, Thunderstick Mag, Lost Creek, Kanati. Sold them all for my two Kanati's. You'll have to pry these from my cold dead hands.

The Whittler

I have 5 customs.

2 BLack Widows.

1 Fedora 560 one piece.

1 JD Berry Yahew (spelling ).

1 Green Mountain LB flat bow Stingray.

Let me see if I can remember....
Bob Lee Ultimate
Tall Tines
2 PCH's
PSAV
Timberghost hybrid
Great Plains SR Swift
2 Pittsley Predators
Schafer Silvertip
Bigfoot Sasquatch ILF  (it and one Predator are all I have left out of that list).

As most know, what one likes in a bow is 90% or higher personal preferences. For me it must be a recurve. Then it must have a substantial riser (not 50's style). The grip must feel good. It must be quick, quiet, and very low hand shock. It must be well made and finished. Finally, these days it must contain interesting wood combinations and grain and I prefer heavy woods.

I'm shooting the wild horse creek two piece exclusively now.
Bowhunting is a passion, not an obsession. Its just hard for my wife to tell the difference sometimes.

I Have four Navajo Longbows, 8 Griffins made by John McCullough, One Recurve that is a Zipper with four sets of limbs, One Morrison Recurve bow, A Wapiti Recuve that has 2 sets of limbs, and One Frederick Longbow. And last but not least a High Sierra Recurve with two sets of limbs, I almost forgot the High Sierra Recuve that has two sets of limbs and my wife thinks that I have two many! Can you imagine that?

I have had a bunch of customs over the years - Silvertip, Zipper, RER, BOB Lee, etc.  I'm a recurve guy at heart, but I'll tell you my keepers are two Leon Stewart longbows.  One is a takedown Slammer and the other is a one piece Little Slammer.  My keeper recurve is a Tall Tines and two that my Dad made me 30 years ago.

tarponnut

Northern Mist Ottawa 49#@28, 60". Great bow, I've killed a bunch of hogs with it.
Wild Horse Creek Mariah, 50#@28", 54".

Both draw and shoot amazing and are real beauties.
I can't resist 1950's style recurves so I had both of those built custom for me.
Mike Dunnaway at WHC even managed to duplicate the sweet grip on the NM for me. I can't seem to put that bow down.

danshao

Had a morrison ilf with tt limbs but I wouldn't call it custom.

Now I have:
predator classic, toelke whip and whippenstick longbow.

The whippenstick is the keeper when it comes to longbow and the predator for recurve or form work. In general I would go with the whippenstick, it's fast and furious, and I'm getting more and more accurate with it!

I want to thank you guys for posting all these lists, now I can show my wife I'm really not that bad when it comes to having bows around. LOL!!
A longbow and wood arrows? Peas and Carrots!

crotch horn

I have had 2 made for me. A Mikuta one piece longbow and a Lost Creek NAT. Loved both but shoulder surgery forced the sale of the Mikuta. That Lost Creek NAT is my go to every day love to shoot it & hunt with it bow.

Ive had probably 100-150 different customs all bought used except for 5 a Checkmate Hunter II, Timberhawk,Crooked Stic, Asenheimer and one I wont mention on here..I really do not have a keeper, I shoot them till I kill a deer or 2 or get tired of them..
The Crooked Stic I just got a few weeks ago is a really nice shooting bow..
