A 1960 Kodiak Deluxe ( Butcher block sight window) 55# and a 1960 Kodiak Special Deluxe 55#
You don't see many Special Deluxes in that weight range.

You have a couple of good looking bows there.  It is interesting to see all of the different shades of wood used in the Deluxes.  I have a couple that are much darker than your two.

one thing that strikes me is the construction differences--the special deluxe appears to have had the grip and accent piece added after the initial glue-up[dark section of riser outside of belly glass]
---and the butcherblock deluxe appears to have the riser constructed before glue-up[riser inside of belly glass]
nice bows!!@ #55!!!

Nice bows Norm. The 1960 Kodiak DeLuxe is one of the prettiest Bear bows ever made IMHO.

Interesting observation Mike. I see what you mean.

Nice looking bows Norm.
