home made smoker? or how to smoke sausage

I am wanting to make up some smoked sausage this season and have everything I need except probably the most important part.. a smoke house..lol.  


I am wondering what some of you guys do and what I could do myself.  Would an electric smoker work?  

for what its worth, I will be doing some venison and pork in it, if that matters.
