Here are a couple new 80CrV2 hunters that will be in the woods this year.

When the last deer disappears into the morning mist,
When the last elk vanishes from the hills,
When the last buffalo falls on the plains,
I will hunt mice for I am a hunter and I must have my freedom.

Those look very nice. I especially like the spalted one (pecan or maple?).
There are strange things done in the midnight sun by the men who moil for gold.

End grain maple.

Beautiful! What do you use to blacken the blades?

Manganese phosphate Parkerizing works pretty good.

I'll have to look into that. Thanks! I've acid etched my cable Damascus. And tried quick gun blue for mono steel to darken them. But never was really happy with the results. So I've went the other direction as of late...sanding, buffing and polishing to a mirror finish.
