BAREBOW SUPER SLAMMER

Thanksgiving evening, just before dark, my BC buddies and I found a large, fresh lion track on a shoulder of the umpteenth snowy road we had been driving for three days. Next morning, we found his track again two miles away and set the hounds loose to see if they could turn his cold trail into a hot one. Four hours later, after many miles of sweat and chills in the 10-below-zero weather, we found him treed 35 feet up in a big Doug fir — offering only a very small "window" to shoot through for the vitals.  The result was a dead cougar that will almost certainly make not only the Pope & Young book, but B & C as well. My selfbow was made of Osage Orange by Curt Brisky (Brisky Bows); my cedar shaft by Suzanne St. Charles (Glenn's daughter); and the broadhead used was a 225-grain TUFFHEAD.
