Greetings fellow trad gang knife junkies   :D
I haven't been here much for a while. I hurt my shoulder(injury was not archery related) and have not been able to shoot my longbows for several months. Also haven't been getting much knife work done, so I didn't have much to contribute.

Anyway, I finally finished up this blade that's been waiting since last spring.

Here're the specs.
Blade is 7 3/8 inches tip to guard of my own "Armstrong Damascus" Laddered w's. 15n20 and 1084, .200 inch thick with full distal taper. 1.5 inches wide.
OAL is a hair over 12"
Weight is 9.5oz
Handle is stabilized birch burl
Guard is textured mild steel
Spacer is antiqued 416 stainless.
Balance is just ahead of the guard.
Fast and light.

All comments and critique welcome.
Thanks,
Darcy   :campfire:

Darcy, your work is exceptional!  The use of materials and texturing is fantastic.

Thanks guys.
I hope to get time to contribute a bit more often now that I am getting back to the knife shop.

The shoulder injury was motorcycle related.......and then I slipped while deer hunting in some nasty, steep, rocky, and incredibly beautiful, terrain, and injured it again.    :knothead:

I love everything about this one.  In my highly unqualified opinion, your eye for combining different materials and finishing techniques is almost unmatched.  I know certifications aren't required for quality work, but it can be a good indication, and I'd rank your work with most that I see with JS and MS on the blade.  Glad to see you back.

Dandy way to start the knife making season Darcy. Get healed up then take care of yourself buddy. Take it from one who knows, the older you get the tougher it is.

That's a real beauty. I like your style. Your ladder pattern is very nice. I hope your recovery is complete and swift.
