Got three more finished up.

The top one is a nessmuck style with zebrawood. The middle one is the infamous carpet burner in a purpleheart dress, not finished with the handle quite yet. And the last is a Skinner with Osage, the Osage had a white wood stripe going thru it that had worm holes in it. I filled them with superglue and left them in. I think they look really cool.

Very nice. Keep turning those out!....If memory serves I believe you are using mower blades as well? I dont know what kind of steel mine was but it got hard enough that a file wouldnt touch it.

Yep they are mower blades. From what I have gathered they are 1085 steel. I have not gotten a Rockwell test done on one yet but after heat treating and tempering they come out just great. The take a great edge, mine are taking a little while to get sharp but once there they are staying sharp.

They look great! One thing that you can do is use some thin CA glue(super glue) to fill those pores in the wood, sand lightly, then apply your regular finish. That makes the finish look more like an over coat. They look real nice and this isn't really needed, it just improves the finish.

Thats what I did with the worm holes. I think they look really neat.
