TRAP

This Mourning Dove chose to nest in a Redbud tree in our yard.  Took a few pics and thought I'd share.

Nice photo Trap.  Doves are pretty birds (and challenging targets).

Two of my favorites, the dove and the redbud. It is amazing how closely you can approach these steadfast birds once the eggs are in the nest. The nests...well, the birds are certainly not structural engineers!

The redbud is a native tree that provides food when its orchid-like flowers turn into beanpods.

Nice pic...now, take one with no flash!

Long, long afterward, in an oak I found the arrow, still unbroke;
And the song, from beginning to end, I found again in the heart of a friend.

Thank You, she's gone untill next spring.

I agree about the structural integrity of the nest.  I'd have a rough time balancing two eggs on so few sticks.

She was successful this year and actually coached one through flight school.  In years past several of her offspring have ended up in the pool skimmer which is shaded by the redbud.

The downside of human comforts   :(
