leather backed plaques

Hi, I don't know what else to call them but I've seen some skull mounts that were mounted on plaques (sp) that had leather on the wood.  Then an impression of the animal is carved into the leather and painted/stained.  They are gorgeous but I'm darned if I can find out who makes them in Africa.

Can anyone point me in the right direction?
