Seminole Wind

When I was about five I came across some broadheads my Dad kept in an old watch box. I've been trying for a few years to figure out what kind they were so I can attempt to obtain one somewhere.

The closest thing I've seen to them are the Woodsmans. I don't remember my dad's broadheads having any vents though. I could be wrong, it's been 40+ years. I do remember they were three-blade, black and reasonably narrow/sleek looking glue ons. this would have been back in the mid '60s.

Any help will be greatly appreciated.

Could have been Early (1946) Bodkins, Bigras Missile, High Precision.

Thank you Ron. I'll try to find some photos of those you've referenced.

I will defer to Mr. Brunges on his knowledge of old broadheads, but what I think you are referring to are Bodkin Broadheads.  They were about the most popular three blade, or at least the most common in their time.  As I remember the main problem with them was wind planing.  If you did not put a lot of spin on your shaft, the arrow would porpose going down range.  Actually float up and down on the air.

If I am wrong, Ron will correct me.

The most important part of your hunting setup is the broadhead.  The rest is just the delivery system.

Arrowmate had a black 3 blade glue on head that was sleek as well.
