Anyone found any morels yet?  I'm also looking for some good recipes in case I do find some.

It's prime time in north MS and most of the deep south, in the few places they grow this far down. I ate 33 little finger-sized "deliciousas" a couple of nights ago. The big yellows are up in GA now, too. My friends in MO haven't found any yet. The blacks should be popping there any time now.

I love Morels.  They are an awesome fungus.  I like to saute them in some butter, garlic, thyme, and then a splash of brandy or cognac, and some cream.  Add them to any stew or braise as well.

No Morels popping thru the snow up here yet! I love them floured and fried in butter or "naked" fried. I don't ever ruin them any other way, lol. This late snow is making it take forever it seems like. But the moisture should make for a bumper crop out back this year. I will let ya's know when they start accompanying the gill fillets!

Believe it or not the "HARDWAY" is often the EASIER way(in hindsight)!

Olive oil, salt and pepper if halfed, but for the ones that crumble on you, do the same but add onions and put on top of a grilled burger. MMMMMMMMM is it spring yet.
