3 Under Shooting Low

I've shot split finger for years and starting experimenting with 3 under. I just started but I shoot consistently low. Like 10-14 inches low at 15 yards. Is this normal??

Most people use a 3 under anchor where the arrow is closer to the eye than it is with their split finger anchor.  If this is the case, then it is simple physics that the arrow will hit low if you hold the same as you did shooting split.  For gap shooters, simply adjust your gap.  For instinctive shooters, give the 'ol computer time to adjust.

For me, that was the reason i went to 3 under.  Split worked well for me most of the time, but when i missed it was almost always high.  This sometimes did not work out well in the deer woods.  I went to apache style to get the arrow closer to my eye.  Initially i hit low but quickly adjusted.  Now i use a fixed crawl and it is working well from 10-30 yds.  I recently even loweredy anchor to achieve better alignment and back tension-- it just felt better immediately and the fixed crawl solved my increased gaps with the lower anchor.  Im sure you will find that you quickly adjust.

Other replies are right on. Only thing I would add is that if you continue to shoot low after getting use to 3 under, you may have too much pressure on your ring finger.

Yes, how you place your fingers on the string makes a difference, but I also see a difference if I shoot with a high or low wrist. I normally use a low wrist, but if I use a high, unbroken wrist, I shoot lower on the target, even though I gain some draw length.

I switched last year and it took me about 4 months to adjust. Best thing I've ever done. accurracy out to 30 yds has improved alot.
