Hey guys, Im new to the forum and new to shooting. Looking to get some pointers on my shooting forum. Any input would be welcomed. I have read a bit and I am trying to do a rotational draw but not sure if Im doing it correctly.

Yelvi,

Not bad at all!  Your draw is good, but at release, you have stopped your back tension.  If the BT is still going, your string side shoulder will "jump" more to the rear -- perpendicular to the arrow line.  Yours does not move after reaching anchor or during release.

Another tip I'd suggest is to get your string hand thumb DOWN.  The thumb should sort of "hang" down in the area of the palm of the hand and at full draw should lay UNDER the jaw bone.  By keeping it up like you are, that is placing a lot of tension into your hand and forearm plus the thumb actually levers your hand out from the face.

PS, where in AK are you?  I lived in North Plow for 20 years.

Thanks for the advice, Arne. I was hoping you would see this. Ill try to focus more on keeping BT. It seems that when I think about it too much I tend to overdraw and arrows start hitting 3-4" more to the right. I'll try to find that balance of keeping tension, but staying properly aligned. Will do on the thumb.

Im on my third tour of duty in Sitka, AK with the Coast Guard, but Im originally from San Diego. I love Alaska and if it were up to me I wouldn't ever leave, and Ill keep coming back as often as they'll let me. Im not familiar with North Plow though.

When you get to full draw, the movement is back away from the arrow line to the target.  You string hand should not move on your face.  If it does, you are pulling with the arm and not the shoulder.  Keep you hand stationary and think "rotate the elbow around the spine.  That should give you the correct movement.

I, too, did not want to leave AK, it was just too far from ANYWHERE so I moved to the south.   :D

So here is an updated video after working on BT and dropping the thumb. I also found a way to hang up a target so I am shooting much closer to level and at a distance of 6 feet from the target. Almost like blind bale. Any input welcome!
