Title: recurve longbow for fiancee
Post by: Thunderhorn25 on January 05, 2007, 11:21:00 AM
My fiancee said she would shoot 3d with me. I am looking for a left handed recurve or longbow for her...any suggestions? I can't spend a ton right now as we are saving for the wedding and honeymooon in July.

Thanks, Mark

there is a great trad shop over just a little north of grand rapids where you could take her and have her test a few out   they have used ones and new ones there to try out

How much experience shooting does she have? Have you measured her for draw length? Any idea of weight she can handle? Want new or used? Is she going to hunt ever or be target only? How tall is she? There are more questions, but this is a start.

okay good info and stuff to thini of...I will measure her for draw length this weekend...she is strong..at least as strong as me. I shoot 47 - 50 lb longbows...but was think 30 - 35 for her to start...for easy shooting and form...she shot in college like for a class...old fiberglass bows and arrows

Look right here in the classifieds. Ya may find one that is around 40-45#s and if she draws 26"s or so it would put ya in the ballpark. I would go with a recurve to start. Shawn
