Its been awhile since I had a new bow made,, going thru all the bowyer ads I decided on Kurts Sasquatch, his Sasquatch SS with the hidden bolts was perfect because I wanted a custom bow specifically to shoot wood arrows, no quiver bushions and originally it was supposed to be a 1 piece bow but with those hidden bow bolts its a no brainer.. I want to thank Kurt for not only making me an awesome bow but he sent me pics of the bow build from beginning to end, even the original blocks of woods before he cut the riser! I got to see everything and even got a video when it was done and thats a first...
58" 46@28 Bubinga and Maple were my choices along with a grip for a big hand then I told Kurt to take it from there, the grip is awesome the throat and shelf are perfect im not lying its like they were fitted to me, it has a really nice palm swell it fits my hand perfect and not like a big lump just enough to fill the palm... I got a few arrows out of it and I am not lying I just shot a handful of random arrows from the bucket and the bow is stable, fast and the arrows all where easy kills in my deer target, heritage 150, dark timber 500 & 600, bearfooted 45/50 & 50/55 surewoods all flew nice with fletching. im going to take better close up pics showing the detail and I need to match the right wood shafts then this bow will be out with me for turkeys..
Beautiful bow!
I picked up 2 of Kirk's takedown in lighter weights to recover from shoulder surgery. I completely agree with your assessment of the grip. They're well built, and fast.
Enjoy the new bow!!
Well i'm sure glad you like the bow. i did increase the size of the palm swell as per your request a wee bit more than i typically shape them.I'm glad it fits you well.
Here is a link to the build album for you..
