I was out shooting today and this happened...

It is pretty painful when it is a self nock but I was impressed with the sinew wrap at the nock. I was shooting a bow I got from James Parker at the Classic this year, 50#@26", boo back and belly High Country. The shot was from 15 yards.

That was a BAD shot----------or a good shot :dunno:
More pain there than a busted kneecap! :biglaugh:
I may try to repair it by splicing a new piece on the end and re-cut the self nock.
Ouch..
Yup fix it up, Pat...
Spliced it up today. I'll post pics when I'm done.
In theory my repair worked, in application, not so good. I used long bevels on each piece, glued with TBIII and wrapped overnight with rubber band but like I said my application wasn't good so the 2 pieces didn't line up. Next time I'll use one of those repairro thingies. I'm sure that would work fine. :banghead:
What's a "repairro thingie"?
It is a section of shaft with a conical hole in one end that fits over a tapered point, like for a glue on point.
