I came across this vintage Herters today at a sale and couldn't pass it up. Purchased from the original owner who took great care of it. Original rest and string was still in good shape. I believe it is the deluxe Hunter model 63 1/2" long and 50lbs@28". It has a little crazing on the belly side but I am hoping it will hold up to a few more years of shooting.
I got one in really great condition just like it .
Here's another picture of mine . [ This attachment cannot be displayed inline in 'Print Page' view ]
That is a really nice on too, Keffer. Am I correct that these are the deluxe hunter model? Do you know what the first two numbers are in the serial numbers?
Terry if memory serves me correctly it was the model number when ordering .I think we both have a 1963 model. [ This attachment cannot be displayed inline in 'Print Page' view ] Yes it is the deluxe model
My bow is only 63 1/2" long. I haven't been able to find any kind of guide as to what the model is according to the serial number. The reason I am trying to find out is because of the brace height needed. The Hunter model calls for 8 3/4" to 9".
Mine is the same length as yours I just had the 69" photo picture on my iPad saved and didn't realize I sent that one .
