I have a handful of vintage bows I like shooting off the shelf but their shelves are very flat. I like using Bear Hair rest. What do you do to build up your shelves under the rugs?
I came across a piece of leather somewhere that is about 1/8" thick. I have made several shelf rests out of it for old Bear and other bows where I wanted a little more radius in the shelf. I cut a piece in the shape I want and then bevel the top with a single edge razor blade to get the radius I want. I leave the middle 1/8" and bevel the ends down to about 1/16". I stick it to the shelf with double sided carpet tape.
I probably have more than a lifetime supply left of the stuff, so if you would like a piece big enough to make a shelf rest, shoot me a PM and I'll mail you one.
That's a really good idea! I think I have some around here somewhere too. If I can't find mine, I will definitely hit you up. Thanks!
I found the same thing with a couple of my old bows, flat arrow shelfs. Quick way to get an elevated rest is get some velcro strips and dots. I did this with my Root Target Master, circa mid-late 50s, it worked fine. Try one or two dots on the shelf and then the strip velcro.
