Just got back from Kodiak Island where I took my first two traditional deer. Used a Toelke Whip, Beman MFX shafts, and a Woodsman broad-head.
A button buck

Looks like a fun hunt, also looks pretty chilly...

Nice, congratulations!
Hey you have snow... I thought we had a global warming problem from too many cow farts. :goldtooth:
A friend and I went to Kodiak in the late '90's. He was using a rifle and me my bow. He took a buck and a doe, and I took two bucks and a doe. I think we had a total of 11" of horn between the three bucks we took...
I know how hard the hunting is there, so congrats on a job well done!
Congrats!
Congrats!

Nice job on two good looking Blacktails. As a Alaskan resident do You have total access to Kodiak Island or do You have to draw tags?
Nobody has to draw tags to hunt deer on Kodiak-OTC
Thanks Steve O, I'm trying to plan a hunt for 2012 to celebrate My 50th birthday and Kodiak Blacktails are in the top 3.
Can a person do unguided hunts there?
Yes you can do DIY hunts there. Limit is 3 deer. Mid November to early Dec seems to be the best time.
Thanks Marty, congrats on Your Blacktails they are beautiful animals.
I like that you cans see the blood trail going off in the picture. Nice shooting and nice deer.

Congratulations! Dan sure makes quality bows. Those are two good looking deer.
